Stansted Academy

The Stansted Academy is  based at the heart of London Stansted Airport and has been set up in parthership with BAA Stansted and Urban Futures.

The academy offers the following services:

  • Recruitment services for airport employers
  • Employment advice and guidance
  • Airport skills training courses

The FREE 3 week training course includes the following:

Weeks 1: Generic course covering pre-employment modules as well as accreditation in Health and Safety and Basic Skills. 

Week 2: NCFE Airport Skills Course covering airport pre-employment skills. 

On completion of this the candidates receive a certificate, and it is this element of the course that they must pass in order to qualify for a guaranteed interview with an airport employer.

Week 3: Concentrates on job matching and interviews at the airport.  Candidates are given access to all the latest vacancies. A tutor works with you to match you to vacancies suited to your skills and abilities.

Progress of the application form is tracked with a feedback form included for employers to complete so that you can see how you are doing and where you might need to improve if you are unsuccessful.

There are certain criteria you must meet to enrol for the three-week Stansted pre-employment training course:

Eligibility Criteria

YOU MUST :
  • be UNEMPLOYED
  • have a VALID CURRENT Passport OR a UK PHOTOGRAPHIC Driving Licence (full or provisional) OR an EEA Identity Card
  • If your passport originates from outside of the UK or EEA , YOU MUST have Home Office documentation entitling you to work in the UK
  • be available to work shifts                               
  • be available to work late nights (up to midnight) and early mornings, starting as early as 3am
  • be able to provide a fully checkable five year reference history without gaps

You MUST NOT have any unspent criminal convictions that would exclude you from gaining a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check on application to the airport 

If you do not meet the criteria above, thank you for your time, but you are not eligible for the course, and therefore do NOT need to complete your details.
