Access to Excellence (A2E)

A2E is a £18.75 million urban regeneration programme aiming to transform and revitalise the London Borough of Newham by increasing social and economic wealth in the three pathway areas of Manor Park, Canning Town and Custom House, and North Woolwich and Silvertown.

The seven-year programme receives funding through the Government's Single Regeneration Budget (SRB).

A2E funds a number of organisations to run projects aimed at improving local residents' access to employment and training.

Since the programme's inception in April 2000, a large number of these organisations have successfully helped a diverse range of local people to secure or retain employment.

Key objectives of the A2E programme include:

  • Enhance employment prospects, education and skills of local people.
  • Address social exclusion and improve opportunities for the disadvantaged.
  • Promote sustainable regeneration, enhancing and protecting the environment and infrastructure.
  • Support and promote growth in local economies and business.

The A2E programme is managed by Urban Futures on behalf of the London Borough of Newham and the London Development Agency (LDA).
