WorkNet Initiative - mental health or learning disabilities

Waltham Forest Council invites local organisations to tender to deliver interventions as part of the new WorkNet initiative to up-skill local unemployed people and empower them to move into sustainable employment.

This intervention will support people living in the Priority Neighbourhoods in Waltham Forest to move into employment via work trials with local employers and is targeted at people receiving an incapacity benefit owing to a mental health disability/condition or learning disability. Job brokerage assistance will be provided to people on this programme to enable them to move into employment.

All participants will receive a full mentoring service whilst on their work trials and employers given advice and guidance on supporting and developing people in their placements.

The intervention will run until March 31st 2008 in the first instance.

The closing date for completed tenders is Monday 18th September at 12pm and short-listed organisations will be invited to give a presentation at an interview on the 25th September 2006.
