WorkNet Initiative - lone parents

Waltham Forest Council invites local organisations to tender to deliver interventions as part of the new WorkNet initiative to up-skill local unemployed people and empower them to move into sustainable employment.

This intervention will provide lone parents on income support living in the Priority Neighbourhoods in Waltham Forest with the chance to access a wide range of employment support.

Work-focused vocational training up to NVQ Level 2 in one or more growth industries will be provided for a number of lone parents to enable them to improve their skills and move into work with increased earning potential.

Practical employment support will be provided including childcare provision for those participating in the programme.

The intervention will run until March 31st 2008 in the first instance.

The closing date for completed tenders is Monday 18th September at 12pm and short-listed organisations will be invited to give a presentation at an interview on the 25th September 2006.

Please contact Katy John on 020 8496 4454 or katy.john@walthamforest.gov.uk for the full tender specification.
