However, 30 new staff at Urban Futures are benefitting from the Future Jobs fund - a Government scheme aimed at reducing unemployment nationally amongst 18-24 year olds. The Chief Executive, Steve Delaney and existing staff of Urban Futures are also benefiting from the enhanced activity in the office and a boost in operational capacity. |
| Prior to getting the job he said; he had found it difficult to find work related to his field, saying, “I wanted to work with computers; mostly programming software however no one wanted to employ me. I feared I would end up working in something I didn’t want to do. I’m glad Urban Futures hired me.” Steve Delaney is delighted with the scheme; he said, “It’s been a bonus to Urban Futures to have so many young staff on board; they all have energy as well as innovation, which allows Urban Futures to reach out to a new dynamic audience”. |

| Urban Futures has changed as a result of employing these young people, as expressed by Sheila Wright – a Project Manager who’s been with Urban Futures for 6 years - “It’s quite exciting having all these young people working under one roof. Their presence helps keep us up to date with the latest technology, which is useful because we can work quickly and efficiently”. Located in North London with two additional offices at both Stansted and Heathrow airports, Urban Futures prides itself on the key support it offers to the disadvantaged members of the community in becoming either self employed or ready for employment. |
